Deconstruction Blues
“Deconstruction Blues” is one in a series of several works depicting various styles and artists connected to traditional blues. In this piece, it is urban blues and Chicago blues in particular that are represented. Out playing and outperforming one another for musical superiority in mostly dark cramped clubs, a practice called “cuttin’ heads”, is the theme behind “Deconstruction Blues” - The slashes of blues blood and burnt guitar suggesting the battle for dominance. For musical inspiration, think Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Buddy Guy, Little Walter, and Sonny Boy Williamson.
