Feel My Love
According to the estate: Three hard-hitting lines of text from a favourite Dylan song build this painting. On hand-sewn panels of canvas, Spiller added scribbles, graffitied messages telling loved ones, ‘I love you all,’ ‘I could hold you for a million years,’ and ‘To make you feel my love.’ Song lyrics referenced Spiller’s life, a way he could express his experiences and emotions. The lyrics and notes were carefully chosen to accompany his paintings and convey his heart felt feelings: “The words are never abstract. There is always a reason for doing them, a connection with a person I am thinking about I hear things in my head – sometimes they’re songs… Sometimes I make up a line.”
