About the series: Gen I is the second series of works by Spiller + Cameron. Works in the previous series, Genesis, are made from salvaged artist paint rags, torn up sheets, and pillowcases used for many years and harvested in a state of decay. The notion of alchemy - giving new life to something previously overlooked or discarded - appealed to the artists. Gen I examines the marks the artists discovered in the Genesis series; the artists expanded upon those works in Gen I, making marks of their own.
