High Art Meets High Fashion at Art Miami 2024
In its 9th year at Art Miami, Long-Sharp Gallery will present works by Andy Warhol that focus on fashion and his relationships with fashion icons of the time. This “Focus on Fashion” will expand beyond Warhol’s drawings and photographs; mother and daughter-owned Long-Sharp Gallery is delighted to collaborate with fashion houses located in South Florida, founded by top women designers. Look for new fashion by JBQ the Label (Miami-based mother and daughter Maria and Sydney Strauss) and The House of Perna (eponymous brand founded by Amanda Perna, featured on Project Runway, VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar). Designers from both houses will be onsite at the Art Miami opening in Booth AM526.
Works by other visual artists will also be on offer. It’s difficult to imagine a presentation of American Pop Art without Roy Lichtenstein and Keith Haring (their works will be there). Known for its presentation of abstract sculpture, Long-Sharp Gallery will not disappoint with large-scale works by Jason Myers, Patrick Hurst, and Tarik Currimbhoy, and smaller-scale sculptures by a trio of women sculptors from across the globe: Cha Jong Rye (South Korea), Nicola Anthony (UK), Julia Ibbini (UAE). Daniel Mullen (the Netherlands) will make his first appearance at Art Miami. Look, too, for works from The Estate of David Spiller, Oliver Marsden, and Spiller + Cameron.
