Early evening is one of my favorite times of day. I am either out hiking, swimming in the lake we live on or in my studio, which has a door to the outside.

When I started this series I was thinking of using a few different blues as an accent or element on a predominantly neutral ground. The ground is made up of different textures and tints. Collaged elements are organic elements such as paper, fabric, sand, etc.

After a period of working intuitively without knowing my endpoint, I stepped outside one evening just as a blue-gray veil was descending and turning everything into a dreamy unified whole. I realized that I was unconsciously interpreting the beauty of that changing time of day.
