HEAL (Rainbow)

Although Indiana had no formal training in screenprinting, he began using this medium in 1963 as he found it best-suited to convey his messages. Almost all of Indiana’s prints made after 1963 were created using this method. (Krause, Wilmerding, “The Essential Robert Indiana” (2013) at page 42.)  Over the course of his expansive career, Indiana worked with a number of print makers.  Twice, both times late in life, Indiana worked with Gary Lichtenstein Editions. He did so with his screenprint edition God is Love and again with all iterations of HEAL.
