About the Suite:

Howard Hodgkin first began making original prints in the 1950s. In later decades, he came to prefer the use of etching, aquatint, and carborundum combined with hand-painting; this suite, his final body of editioned graphics, is a portfolio of 18 hand-painted etchings utilizing this printing technique.

With titles like “Late Autumn”, “Raspberry Crumble”, and “Outspoken”, each of the unique prints in this suite speaks to a particular time, place, or memory. Each features elements from what the artist refers to as his language or vocabulary – incorporating his signature spots, stripes, “waves and wriggles.”
